Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT)
In March 2015, we launched a county-wide Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) to help reduce an alarming increase of involuntary children hospitalizations (Baker Acts) in the St. Johns County area. As of January 2019, the team -- consisting of Licensed Mental Health Counselors, a Registered Nurse and certified Targeted Case Manager -- conducted more than 1,000 safety assessments and diverted over 80% of the children in crisis from costly hospitalization.
As of 2019, MCRT services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The team works in collaboration with:
The Child’s Family
Area Mental Health Providers
Working together, they develop safety plans and link families to needed service.
Our MCRT responded to and provided assessments & wraparound services for 1,000 + youth in St. Johns County.
As of January 2019, MCRT
services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in St. Johns County.
DIVERTED BAKER ACTS
More than 80% of the crisis calls our team responded to did not result in a traumatic and costly Baker Act.
With hospital stays averaging $3,900. Our MCRT assessments saved our community over $4,000,000.
