Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT)

In March 2015, we launched a county-wide Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) to help reduce an alarming increase of involuntary children hospitalizations (Baker Acts) in the St. Johns County area. As of January 2019, the team -- consisting of Licensed Mental Health Counselors, a Registered Nurse and certified Targeted Case Manager -- conducted more than 1,000 safety assessments and diverted over 80% of the children in crisis from costly hospitalization.

As of 2019, MCRT services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The team works in collaboration with:

  • The Child’s Family

  • Area Mental Health Providers

  • Law Enforcement

  • School Personnel

Working together, they develop safety plans and link families to needed service.
